Pakistan were knocked out of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Saturday after failing to achieve the required net run-rate target against England in Kolkata during their final round-robin stage match.
Pakistan needed to restrict England to 100 runs to have any chance of qualifying for the semi-finals but, since the latter have gone past that figure, the Men in Green are now out of the event.
Pakistan won't be able to chase down England's target within the required overs, keeping NRR in mind, even if they hit a six on every ball.

If score is 50 — Pakistan need to chase in 2 overs
If score is 100 — Pakistan need to chase in 2.5 overs
If score is 150 — Pakistan need to chase in 3.4 overs
If score is 200 — Pakistan need to chase in 4.3 overs
If score is 300 — Pakistan need to chase in 6.1 overs
Pakistan have won four and lost as many matches during the tournament before today's encounter against England.
Pakistan all-format skipper Babar Azam is considering relinquishing the captaincy, specifically stepping down from leadership in white-ball cricket.
As per sources, the 29-year-old has been seeking guidance on his future, consulting with former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja and people close to him.
During the training at Kolkata's Eden Gardens on Friday, Azam sought advice from Ramiz Raja.
The decision on whether to continue as captain will be influenced by consultations upon his return to the country. In the current circumstances, Azam values the advice he receives, particularly from his father.
Expressing disappointment with the conduct of the PCB and former cricketers, Azam has received counsel from those close to him advising him to step down from leadership in all three formats.
Sources further added that the suggestion is based on the belief that prominent captains have faced challenges in Test series in Australia. Consequently, individuals in Azam's inner circle have recommended he step down from captaincy roles in both red and white-ball cricket.
Although, Azam initially planned to make this decision while in India, he has now postponed it and will finalise his choice upon returning to the country.
